Copa Cabana.

In Denmark, in the Danish version of the Copa Cabana song, her name wasn’t Lola, she may have been a show girl, but it’s in Danish, so I couldn’t tell her occupation, and she’s not at the Copa Cabana! She’s on Istegade, which is a notorious street right near Copenhagen Central Station, full of homeless persons, druggies, prostitutes and sex shops.

Maybe I like the Danish version better… ?

Practice makes perfect.

In your face cannulation! Now I just have to wait until I’m a registered nurse in Australia to be able to try this again…

Also, sorry if you’re squeamish.

Magical Wonderland.

Tivoli!
A place with rides and pirate ships and fairy floss and beer and cider and spiralling lights and Japanese gardens and sharks you can ride on. Oh and they have rock concerts on Friday’s during Summer.

Den Lille Havfrue.

The Little Mermaid.

Pretty, but not nearly as cute as this statue.

Star-shaped stuff is always nice.

Especially when it’s a moat protecting a fort.
A star-shaped moat. Fantastic.

p.s. That is not the fort in the photo. That is the other side of the moat, that civillians are allowed to be on.

Cemetery Picnic?

When in Copenhagen do as the locals do and hang out in a cemetery on a sunny day.
Not just your average cemetery, of course. It’s getting a Metro station put in, beautiful gardens and grassy areas and HC Andersen’s grave.

Denmark Favourite.

While it looks like something from the Mediterranean, this beautiful sand dune is found in Northern Jutland, Denmark.
My weekend spent in Northern Denmark had some beautiful sights and scenery. Including Skagen the most northern point of Denmark where you can stand with each foot in different seas, but this place tops everything. Hands down.

How to become a Doctor.

Prescribe Scotch to an Italian woman with a cold and all the Australian’s at the table in a bar in Scotland will instantly change your status from Nursing Student to Doctor.

I think it’s legit.

All though the next night when she’d rolled her ankle and was asking if whisky was a good idea, I did stop for a brief moment to think about the repercussions this would have on her foot the next day, but then decided she could handle it, and carried on prescribing Scotch!

Old Wives Tales.

A Kiwi Granny Lady on my bus tour around Northern Ireland, was… a chatterbox to put it nicely. While trying to fight off a cold for the weekend she would say about half a dozen times a day after a coughing fit “Oh, I should probably stop talking for a bit, so I’ll stop coughing.” This got my hopes up the first few times. But it appeared to be impossible for her not to talk. I stopped falling for this very quickly.

I had to try and explain to her 3 times that her cold could not turn into the flu if she went outside.

One of the few times she’d managed to be quiet on the bus, she had a SNEEZING fit and came out with this pearler: “Goodness, and I wasn’t even talking. I wonder why that happened?” – WHAT!?
